The Power of Less! This is the theme of Web2.0 Expo NY 2009. This has never been more true than now, and Social Media has shown us a new way of communicating the message in a down economy. Tons of Social Media tools and technologies are free or very accessible, what’s a great starting point for new and small businesses, or regular people with small budgets.
The consumers are now spreading the message and big companies can gain more with less just by listening and joining the conversation and tacking advantage of the opportunity to talk to potential clients directly. By doing this many companies were able to save money enough to keep their staff on.
it’s a matter of redirecting their efforts. A lot of companies still cringe thinking about their employees on Facebook and Twitter at work enough to block the sites from company controlled computers. What that boss had failed to see is his workers potential in a new market. That skilled work may have more skills that can help the company do less and gain more. It’s about using all the tools to position yourself before the masses. It’s also about being a pioneer and setting yourself aside of your competition. Listening and caring gives you the chance to deliver exactly what people want, besides spending tons of money to push a message down the public’s trought.
Zappos! is a perfect example of this! They use it all and boost team morally which help to gain more with less.
