The way we heard about Melinda and her book was actually very funny. One of our followers (and “consequential stranger”) Michael J Smith mentioned us to her on a Twitter conversation. He said that we would love the book and it has everything to do with our ideas.

So, we got connected and here we are, talking about “Consequential Strangers - The Power of People Who Don’t Seem to Matter… But Really Do”. This is the topic of Melinda Blau’s book, co-written by Karen L. Fingerman, PhD.

It is a pretty interesting concept and discussion. The authors explain that we actually spend more time with our consequential strangers that with our intimates. They can be the waitress who serves your breakfast, the man at the news stand, your Twitter friends, people form Facebook that you don’t see for a long time. Maybe they are the ones who have the information you need.
